Biography
Samir AFFARI began his career as a patent engineer in 2014 with a Paris-based firm of Industrial Property Attorneys, where he worked mainly in the fields of materials and physics, preparing and obtaining patent rights in France and abroad. He then went on to work as an industrial property engineer at FIVES Group, where he was responsible for protecting and defending the intellectual property rights, in particular patents and trademarks, of a number of subsidiaries, particularly those involved in the aluminum, cement and cryogenics sectors. In this role, he was responsible, among other things, for carrying out patentability studies, drafting patent applications, monitoring the granting procedures, intervening in pre-litigation and litigation, and also supporting inventors within these subsidiaries to promote innovation and develop IP strategies.
