Pakistan joins the Madrid System
and can be designated through an International trademark now

The WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) just announced the accession of the Pakistan to the Madrid System.
This admission now allows foreigners (companies or private individuals) to benefit of:
– a simplified access to filing procedures of national Pakistani trademarks (“national” filing procedure has been gradually harmonized in recent years, to meet the WIPO’s requirements);
– and above all the option to designate this territory through an International trademark filed before the WIPO.
Obtaining a trademark protection into Pakistan is henceforth way easier, for limited costs if the International trademark process is selected.
