Biography
Mark has focused on intellectual property since completing his technical degree in 1998, since when he has gained experience in each of the main axes of IP activity. He has in particular worked as a patent examiner, in private practice in Munich and London, and as leader of the IBM France Patent team. In his most recent role as Senior IP Strategist in the IBM IP Management Solutions team, he advised IBM clients to optimize their ability to capture, manage and monetize intellectual property arising from their innovations. During this period Mark also contributed as inventor to a number of IBM Patent applications.
Thus in addition to the standard set of skills expected of a trademark and patent attorney, mark has developed advanced skills in:
- IP monetisation and licensing
- Support of the creative process- stimulation, refinement and strategic evaluation of technical innovation
- Training of inventors and other professionals in IP subjects
- Development and implementation of global IP strategies
- Software audit and informed use of Open source material
- Patent search and patent landscape development and analysis
