Classically, in order to avoid cybersquatting, the Chinese Registry provides a “sunrise period” for the trademark owners until October 14th, 2012. For the owner of a registered word mark (Chinese or foreign trademark), which is still in force: We highly recommend to register the domain name reproducing your mark under the extensions « .中国 » and/or « .中國 » BEFORE October 14th, 2012.
NB: Owners of trademark incorporating figurative elements are not concerned by the “sunrise period”.
