End of priority period for registration of “.UK” Internet domain name

             End of priority period for registration of “.UK” Internet domain name

The priority period for registration of an Internet domain name with the extension “.UK” ends very soon, namely on June 25th, 2019.

This “grandfathering” period is reserved to the holders of domain names registered before October 28th, 2013 including the following extensions:

– .co.uk

– .org.uk;

– .me.uk;

– .net.uk

– .plc.uk;

– .ltd.uk

In other words, holders of these types of earlier domain names have – under additional specific conditions – priority to register matching “.UK” domain names until June 25th, 2019.

Then, from July 1st, 2019, these corresponding “.UK” domain names will not be reserved anymore and will become available for anyone to register, on a first-come first-served basis.

If you own domain names such as those listed above, registration of equivalent “.UK” ones shall be therefore promptly considered, especially to:

– benefit of a sharper and more identifiable extension, ideal to highlight your brands;

– secure your domain names portfolio, avoiding a registration by competitors or other threatening third parties.

We hope the above information is helpful and remain at your disposal to assist you in this specific domain name registration process.
